FARIAS, Camila Peixoto  e  CARDOSO, Marta Rezende. The obsessive jail: the thought as an act. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2014, vol.66, n.2, pp. 68-81. ISSN 1809-5267.

In obsessional neurosis there is topical regression from the act to the thought that then becomes supported by an energy usually reserved for actions, thereby gaining the value of an act. Our goal in this article is to analyze the metapsychological elements implicated in this problem. We will highlight the link between the process of thought and the feeling of omnipotence; articulation that has particular relevance to our study of obsessional neurosis. We will try to show that both the manipulation of thought and the obsessive rituals implicate the inhibition of the act. Thought is the ground where one of the most important aspects of Zwangsneurose appears: the compulsion. We will try to investigate what is the unique nature of this compulsion in this kind of neurosis.
