Abstract

ALMEIDA, Leonardo Pinto de. The total experience of literary reading. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2014, vol.66, n.2, pp. 143-158. ISSN 1809-5267.

The paper presents literary space as a resonance space to conduce reflections about literary reading. As the literature is an exploration of existential issues focused by the writer, it is opposed to dogmatism, systematicity and seriousness. The perspectivism raised by literary space invites reader to a particular engagement to the text. Literary reading is an intense experience in which the reader is so committed to meaning production as well as the writer in literary writing act. Thus, from Blanchot's thought, we conceptualize such intense experience as the overall experience of reading. It differs from other readings, like informational and theoretical, because it is characterized by hosting, ignorance and understanding. It is contrary to the will of truth. This analysis points to the overall experience of literary reading space as a result of resonance produced between the reader's body and the text.
