This study aims to analyze and describe the possible structural aspects of social representations of male college students about alcohol. In total, 361 students of Federal University of Minas Gerais have participated on this research. A questionnaire composed of four thematic blocks was applied to collect data: personal data; Free Evocations; first use and current use of alcohol; positive and negative consequences of alcohol consumption. Data analysis was developed through the methodology of construction of the Picture of Four Houses, using the software EVOC, and the content analysis technique. The results reveal that the social representation to the respondents about alcohol is composed of a set of beliefs and attitudes predominantly positive. Alcohol consumption also is perceived as an important component of male socialization.
