Abstract

MARCOS, Cristina Moreira. Act and instinctive drift in the clinic of anorexia and bulimia. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2015, vol.67, n.1, pp. 115-129. ISSN 1809-5267.

Contemporary symptoms seem to be based on a denial of the unconscious, refusing to be turned into words. Anorexia and bulimia go against the symbolic feature of the symptom as a message. It shows the symptom as a fixation of the jouissance. In the clinic of anorexia and bulimia, the signifier is replaced by the jouissance. It is a clinic of the act more than the manifestations of the unconscious. We will examine this subject using the testimony of Fabiola De Clercq, Tutto il pane del mondo (Every bread in the world). Based on her testimony, we will investigate what makes anorexia and bulimia unique, in which the act is crucial.

Keywords : Anorexia; Bulimia; Act; Instinct.
