Abstract

MAGLIANO, Fernando da Rocha  and  SA, Roberto Novaes de. Heidegger's Reflections upon Technique, Freedom and Psychological Clinical Practices. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2015, vol.67, n.2, pp. 19-32. ISSN 1809-5267.

We will take Martin Heidegger's thoughts on freedom as the guiding principle for our considerations. Initially, we will present the reflection upon modern technique and freedom to, subsequently, articulate both concepts with the context of psychological clinical practices of phenomenological-existential nature. We intend, therefore, to promote a critical distance concerning the contemporary scientific and technical tendencies of clinical psychology. The purpose is to stimulate another way of understanding and experiencing the dynamic of psychotherapeutic encounters beyond its initial conception, immersed in modern technique. We think that this approach will be able to grasp the essence of human existence by taking into account ontological concepts such as being-there, world disclosure and freedom.

Keywords : Heidegger; Phenomenology; Technique; Releasement; Clinical Psychology.
