Abstract

SALES, Jôse Lane; OLIVEIRA, Regina Herzog de  and  PACHECO-FERREIRA, Fernanda. Splitting: the notion of deconstructive trauma in Ferenczi. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2016, vol.68, n.2, pp. 60-70. ISSN 1809-5267.

Considering the impasses of contemporary psychoanalytic practice, designed to further clarification about some types of incomprehensible psychic suffering if taken exclusively from the logic of the mechanism of repression and foreclosure, the main objective of this paper is to analyze the cleavage process. We support the hypothesis that such a process is not restricted to the perversion phenomenon, being directly related to the experience of trauma, signaling the existence of contents unable to enter the representational circuit. We will analyze the main writings of Freud and Ferenczi which address the cleavage process, and also discuss its impact on practice.

Keywords : Splitting; Psychoanalytic practice; Trauma; Repression.
