Social Anxiety Disorder or Social Phobia is among the most common psychological disorders, and the use of assessment tools with proper psychometric properties is required to obtain a correct diagnosis. This article aims to describe the exploratory factor analysis of the Social Anxiety Questionnaire for Adults, which is considered a new instrument to assess Social Anxiety Disorder. The sample consisted of 894 participants, including 768 of non-clinical population and 126 of clinical one. This is an instrumental, quantitative and cross-sectional study. As a result, the Social Anxiety Questionnaire for Adults showed good psychometric properties, stability in structure and nature of the five factors with excellent internal consistency, pointing to a clearly factorial distribution of the instrument for measuring social anxiety.
