Abstract

MARTINS, Aline Gomes  and  NASCIMENTO, Adriano Roberto Afonso do. Domestic violence, alcohol and other associated factors: a bibliometric analysis. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2017, vol.69, n.1, pp. 107-121. ISSN 1809-5267.

This work aimed at realizing a bibliometric search on the recent literature about the relation between domestic violence and alcohol based on journals available on CAPES platform from 2003 to 2013. The results show that the main victims of domestic violence are women and children, being man the main aggressor, followed by the woman. The most frequent type of violence among the subjects was the physical one, and concerning children and teenagers, sexual violence was predominant. As to alcohol consumption, man is the principal user. Other factors related to domestic violence, besides alcohol, are education level, poverty, violence history in the family, among others. Some aspects not well covered by the articles were: marital homosexual violence, domestic violence on the countryside, domestic violence against elders and disabled people. Those topics show up as gaps which deserve special attention from researchers.

Keywords : Domestic violence; Alcohol; Bibliometry.
