Facebook has become one of the most important tools of communication nowadays. This social network allows its users to exchange information and to feel part of a group or a social style. This study assessed the depressive and anxious symptomatology of Portuguese Facebook users. The sample was constituted by 201 users (123 female users and 73 male users) with ages between 18 and 73 years old. For this purpose, two questionnaires were made (one social demographic and another one related to the Facebook usage), Beck Depression Inventory and Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale. The results confirmed that the anxiety and depression values vary according to demographic diversity, but they set aside the rising of levels of anxiety and depression on Portuguese Facebook users.
