This study identifies emotional situations present on the admission of psychotic patients at the Psychosocial Care Center. Exploratory, retrospective and descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The data were collected through documentary analysis of medical records. The patients had an average of 35.35 years old; the majority were male; single; with a diagnosis of Schizophrenia. The main situation present in the admission of patients was preexisting psychopathology. The main emotional situations present in psychotic crisis were the presence of pre-existing psychopathology; psychiatric emergencies; situations related to unresolved conflicts; and situations arising from unexpected stress.
