GUERRA, Lívia Lira  and  DEL PRETTE, Zilda Pereira. Educative social skills of caregivers of institutionalized children. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2018, vol.70, n.3, pp. 98-112. ISSN 1809-5267.

This study analyzed issues related to the repertoire of educative social skills of caregivers and the social skills and behavioral problems of institutionalized children. Participants included 36 children aged 6 to 12 years, as well as 19 responsible caregivers, who evaluated children with the Social Skills Rating System (SSRS-BR) and their own repertoire with the Social Skills Inventory (IHS-Del-Prette) and with the Educative Social Skills Inventory (IHSE -Del-Prette). Children scored below the norm for social skills and above for behavior problems. Caregivers achieved normative scores for social skills, but scored below the norm for educative social skills. Discussion focuses on possible practical and research implications of the educative social skills of caregivers on the socioemotional development of institutionalized children.
