Abstract

KYRILLOS NETO, Fuad  and  DRAWIN, Carlos Roberto. Religious belief and the end of analysis: the subject facing the elaboration of knowledge. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2019, vol.71, n.2, pp. 99-113. ISSN 1809-5267.  http://dx.doi.org/10.36482/1809-5267.ARBP2019v71i2p.99-113.

This manuscript aims to investigate the possibilities of religious belief for a subject at the end of analysis. This is a theoretical research in psychoanalysis collected with three fragments of clinical cases. The texts of Freud and Lacan are used as reference and this research intends to investigate and to articulate the conceptual warp of the psychoanalytic theory concerning the relations between the end of analysis and religious belief. We discuss the end of analysis from the coordinates of the phantom crossing and the identification with the symptom, both imbricated with the sphere of knowledge. It presents the Lacanian conception of religion emphasizing its property of covering up the real with a judgment about the end of the world. It is emphasized the disparity of knowledge between psychoanalysis and religion. It can be concluded that, although psychoanalysis and religion occupy heterogeneous fields, the end of analysis can enable the radicalization of religious belief and its subjective accountability.

Keywords : Psychoanalysis; Final of Analysis; Religion; Knowledge.
