BORGES, Mariana Miranda  and  COSTA, Liana Fortunato. Adolescents sexual offenders attended at a health care institution in the center-west region of Brazil. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2020, vol.72, n.1, pp. 140-158. ISSN 1809-5267.  http://dx.doi.org/10.36482/1809-5267.ARBP2020v72i2p.140-158.

This article aims to characterize the adolescent who committed sexual offenses attended at a health institution in the center-west region of Brazil. The method was documentary analysis of the medical records of 25 adolescents attended in the years 2015 to 2017, using the frequency, mean and chisquare test to identify socio-demographic data and sexual offense scene. The information gathered resulted in two discussion axes: 1- the adolescent who committed sexual offense - was observed to the predominance of the offensive practice by male adolescents, average age of the offensive practice of 12 years of age; 2 - scene of the sexual offense - pointed out that there is proximity of kinship between the victim and the adolescent; victimization occurred in the adolescent's home; and there was no application of protection measures and / or accountability of adolescents. Thus, cases of sexual offense are characterized as opportunistic sexual violence.
