Virgínia Leone Bicudo, a black woman from São Paulo born in 1910, was a very active character in the field of health education, social sciences and psychoanalysis. Her master's dissertation, defended in the 1940s under the title 'Study of Racial Attitudes of Blacks and Mulattoes in São Paulo', was the first work about race relations defended at a Brazilian university. Her research had an innovative character, since it showed that there is color prejudice independent of class prejudice, contrary to what was believed at the time. The present work rescues the findings and conclusions of the study of Virgínia, using for this the technique of Analysis of Nuclei of Sense in order to bring the speeches of the interviewees that were more representative of the conclusions pointed out by the author. With this, we aim to contribute to future resumes on the findings of Virgínia, which show enormous relevance despite having passed more than 70 years.
