Abstract

MEDEIROS, Katruccy Tenório; DE BARROS, Márcia Maria Mont'Alverne  and  MACIEL, Silvana Carneiro. Social representation of woman and female drug user. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2020, vol.72, n.3, pp. 19-34. ISSN 1809-5267.  http://dx.doi.org/10.36482/1809-5267.ARBP2020v72i3p.19-34.

This study aims to analyze and compare the representational structure of woman and female drug user by health psychosocial professionals and university students. The qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study counted on 42 participants, 21 professionals and 21 university students, aged between 19 and 62 years old, most of them men (61.9%). The Free Association of Words Technique was used through the inductors "woman" and "female drug user", analyzed with the help of the IRAMUTEQ software, through the prototypical and similitude analysis. The results indicate that upon the woman there are representations that reflect the maternal social role, and as a gender equality resistance figure; as for the female drug user, the idea of vulnerability and stereotyped representations were identified, blaming them for the drug involvement and putting them aside from society.
