This study identified the professional profile and characterized the modes of action of six psychologists in socio-educational policy through semi-structured interviews. The qualitative analysis identified a profile of qualified psychologists, with trajectories of action in different public policies. The practice was marked by the interdisciplinary articulation and with other public policies necessary to the network of assistance to adolescents in Socio-educational Measure (MSE). Although the performance is still marked by clinical care, psychologists consider the contextual aspects of the realities of each adolescent. It is part of their work: the attention to families, the guarantee of rights and the concern with the life of the adolescents after MSE. Finally, it is understood that the professional profile and trajectories make the difference in the performance and skills of creating strategies to deal with adverse situations in the day-to-day work in the socio-educational field.
