Abstract

ALMEIDA-SEGUNDO, Damião Soares de et al. Juvenile homicides and death policies in the state of Ceará. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2020, vol.72, n.3, pp. 50-66. ISSN 1809-5267.  http://dx.doi.org/10.36482/1809-5267.ARBP2020v72i3p.50-66.

This article aims to problematize how the phenomenon of victimization of poor and black children and youths by homicide in Brazil is an analyzer of the relationships between death management policies in the peripheries of contemporary capitalism and the psychosocial production of killable subjects. For this purpose, we take data from the Comitê Cearense para Prevenção de Homicídios na Adolescência regarding the victimization of child and youth segments in this state. Theoretically, we will make use of the dialogue between productions in Social Psychology about urban violence involving young people and theoretical tools by Foucault, Agamben, Butler, Mbembe and Valencia, such as state racism, tanatopolitics, precarious lives, necropolitics and gore capitalism. We conclude by pointing out how death management policies in current capitalism, especially its expression by the extermination of black and poor children and youth segments, and their relationship with the production of these subjects as killable, manage forces that produce internal enemies through the race-poverty-dangerousness-criminality-minorism association.
