This systematic review aims to examine how psychology has investigated African immigration to Brazil. Data were collected between February and May 2019 on the basis of the databases Periódicos da Capes, PePSIC, BVS. The following descriptors were used: immigration and psychology; immigrants and psychology; refugees and psychology; students and psychology. We found 1,171 studies, and after application of inclusion and exclusion criteria, 5 articles were selected. Our analysistook into account how ethnic and racial relationships were explored, limits and theoretical methodological contributions. The studies were classified according to the similarity of the levels of analysis proposed by Doise, and revealed three levels: the intra-individual, inter-individual and societal. After analyzing the ethnic and racial issues, only one study was founded on the societal level ; the level of intra-individual analysis emphasized cautiously issues defining dissent as racism, xenophobia, discrimination and prejudice.
