Abstract

MACHADO, Jardel Pelissari  and  ZANELLA, Andrea Vieira. Absent monument: tensions and story(ies) (in)visible(s) in the univers/city. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2021, vol.73, n.3, pp. 6-22. ISSN 1809-5267.  http://dx.doi.org/10.36482/1809-5267.arbp2021v73i3p.6-22.

This essay analyzes the relations between city, history and social production of memory, themes that are subject to social psychology and other areas of knowledge. For that, we took as a focus of the analysis the two times that university students overthrew (in 1968 and 2014) the bust that honored an ancient university dean and that was fixed in the courtyard of the building complex of the Rectory of the Federal University of Paraná. Our starting point was the absence of the bust and the signs that remained in the place where it was fixed. As a virtual ragman, we search the archives no longer accessed and available at the web. The analysis of this material led us to know the characters and to understand the tensions involved in these two acts. The narrative presented seeks to contribute to make visible other voices that make up the constant production of the city putting in tension the official history, allegedly monological.

Keywords : Social memory; Monument; City; History; Dialogism.
