Abstract

FERREIRA, Joel Antonio. A confrontation of the Semitic anthropology of the Apostle Paul with Greek anthropology. Rev. abordagem gestalt. [online]. 2008, vol.14, n.2, pp. 212-217. ISSN 1809-6867.

I will treat the concept of corporality in Paul. Boyarin, a North American Jew accuses Paul of dichotomy. And in this view, he reflects on the consequences this has brought to Jews up to the present time. This is not true. Boyarin, equivocally, interprets Paul from the point of view of Philo. I will show here that Paul sees the human as a complete and unified being, an entire human person. And starting from this view I will show how personal unity without any dichotomy can lead to unity in a community.

Keywords : Semitic culture; Hellenic culture; Corporality; Dualism; Unity.
