Abstract

The holistic therapy is a recent practice on the therapeutic field and sometimes is used also by psychologists, despite of not being recognized as scientific. In this research, it was intended to investigate with therapists that use holistic practices, but that are also graduated in psychology, the meanings that they attribute to holistic therapy and to psychology and the motives of their choice for holistic therapy - considering that they may or may not have chosen continuing as psychologists. The participants showed that they join psychology and holistic therapy and adopted a personal ethic in opposition to the Psychologists' Professional Ethic Code because they disagree with it and with the scientific parameters in psychology.
