Abstract

This article aims to show how the elements anguish and guilt existential are related with the today known Obsessivecompulsive disorder. The anguish and guilt will be explained in agreement as the thought of Medard Boss is shown in the description of the world of compulsive undertaken by Von Gebsattel. In the end, the link between these studies and the current research of qualitative nature and phenomenological, will argue that the anguish and guilt are valid elements for the understanding of obsessive-compulsive disorder, although currently, with the advent of phenomenological research, may be better understood and explained. The text ends, demonstrating the contribution to the understanding of obsessive-compulsive disorder in the context of clinical psychotherapy and saying on the necessity to expand the research on the topic, clearing the best individual nuances
