FURTADO, Janaína Rocha  y  GASPAR, Fabíola Polito. Polarities control and trust in contemporary society from Gestalt-therapy. Rev. abordagem gestalt. [online]. 2022, vol.28, n.1, pp. 60-69. ISSN 1809-6867.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18065/2022v28n1.6.

This article consists on a theoretical discussion about the relationship between control and trust phenomena. Based on the concepts of contact, field, creative and dysfunctional adjustment in Gestalt-therapy, the objective was discuss about the reflections and the implications of the desire for control in today's society and the polarities control and trust in the clinical work of the gestalt therapist. We observe that control presents itself as a necessary adjustment to self preservation and self protection. However, when dysfunctional, the control prevents the spontaneity and the assumption of new forms of relationship with oneself and with the world. The feeling of confidence is sustained, in turn, in the belief in the skills and conditios, both of the individual himself and of those provided by the field to face the risks and changes inherent in living. In this sense, it is up to the therapist, in the dialogic relationship he establishes with the client, facilitates a space for the integration of the polarities control and trust, having this balance as a necessary condition for "healing" in Gestalt-therapy.
