MORAES, Marcia Oliveira et al. ResearchCom: effects of a body experimentation workshop with visually disabled and blind people. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2016, vol.11, n.1, pp. 147-160. ISSN 1809-8908.

The research Perceive without Seeing is conducted at the Benjamin Constant Institute (IBC) and offers intervention-devices, Body Experimentation Workshops, offered to visually disabled and blind people. During the workshops we explore the meeting of bodies-music-balloons-sounds and we investigate what the body can be able to create. We define body as corporeity, an existence that takes place in the practice of trying oneself out. The loss of vision demands a (re)elaboration of the relation between each singular body and the world. We ask: what are the effects of a body experimentation workshop with visually disabled and blind people? Making use of the research With method, we affirm that the corporal work sets into scene an I-body known by oneself, which in the path of self-experiencing, learns about oneself and shares these discoveries in group. The self-embodying, experiencied at the workshops, begins to embody blindness, and also embodies our own researcher bodies, our own visually centred benchmarks.
