Abstract

BARROSO, Suzana Faleiro  and  FERRARI, Ilka Franco. Incarcerated mother: bounds and unbounds with a child. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2016, vol.11, n.1, pp. 238-248. ISSN 1809-8908.

The text goes through a way that takes to a conception of what is to be a mother, her role and the consequent subjective constitution of a child, based on the questions that come from a research developed by the Reference Center to the Incarcerated Pregnant of the System of Prison of Minas Gerais. This prison system unit is considered a model to the Latin America, because the pregnant prisoner or women who already have children there stay in installations with no bars, until the child is aroundone year old. The idea, base of this institutional project, is the guarantee of the nursing and physical contact with the mother, contributing to the strengthening of the psycho affective bounds, until the judicial determination to the separation between mother and child happens. The psychoanalysis orientates the trajectory and in the conclusion are established some conditions to think about this separation, different from the chronologic time that has been a preoccupation to the Brazilian governmental policy.

Keywords : motherhood; crime; childhood; social ties; psychoanalytic theory.
