This review aims to examine the role of the Program of Education at Work for Health(PET-Saúde) in the trainingof health professionals regarding their performance with the theme of drug use. It is a literature review with fourteen studies that met the inclusioncriteria. Seven were experience reports and seven were empirical research. According to the analyzed material, PET-Saúde is emerging as an important strategy for an expanded and critical training, as well as for the strengthening of the healthcareservices and network. In addition, the programentailsseveral forms of action and insertion in the network, enabling dialogue between different knowledges, experiences, actions and services. However,other changesin the healthcaretrainingare necessary, along with the implementation of PET-Saúde, so that we have clarity of its role and specific challenges in the establishment of public policies in the area.
