This study presentssomepossibilities for proposing a professional training on attention to drug users that is in accordancewith the principles of the National Health Ministry Policy to the attentionof drug users, in order to qualify the proposed training models. This is an exploratorystudy aiming to present a proposal ofthe training implemented by the Regional Reference Center (CRR) of Fluminense Federal University (UFF) for medical training in alcohol and other drugs. The article points out structural bases for a different formation such as crossing the stigma issue and the partnership with the health system. For the production of health care activities, we need to measure the importance of different training processes sonew health production methods can be adopted.
