Abstract

SANTOS, Josenaide Engracia dos; SANTOS, Tiago Antunes dos; TOLEDO, Melina Mafra  and  MATOS, Susy Rocha de. Travel the backcountry paths: shared construction of knowledge about alcohol and other drugs. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2016, vol.11, n.3, pp. 613-622. ISSN 1809-8908.

A paradigm shift in the care of alcohol and other drugs users requires training the professionals acting in this area. This paper presents a training experience intended that aimed to think on the possible transformation of healthcare practices. The everyday experience of professionals was considered from a constructivist approach. The activities were carried out with professionals coming from the areas of: health, social care, education and public safety working in the interior of the state of Bahia. The paper concludes that the drugs theme is still viewed from a radical perspective of good or evil, and characterized more as a threat than a social problem. Training requires in this case disposition from the professionals and constitutes a process of (re) learning skills, concepts and knowledge that relate affectively, critically and technically to the treatment of users.
