Abstract

ARPINI, Dorian Mônica; SAVEGNAGO, Sabrina Dal Ongaro  and  WITT, Cibele dos Santos. The perspective of adolescents in situation of socially vulnerability about the sexual offender. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2017, vol.12, n.2, pp. 247-262. ISSN 1809-8908.

This study approaches the theme of sexual assault, focusing on the familiarity of the relationships between offenders and victims. Focal groups were performed, included 30 girls and 23 boys from two schools of a city in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. The results, after the analysis of content, indicate that adolescents understand the majority of sexual assault situations involve family relationships. The father and the stepfather were the two people most mentioned as offenders. The closeness of the relationship between the victim and the offender is conceived as an element that would hinder disclosure the situation, since it could cause rupture in family relationships. The adolescents consider that the offenders should be hardly punished, since suffering imposed to the victim is considered intense. Final considerations approach the complexity of the sexual assault, especially when it involves family members, highlighting the relevance of disclosure and the need for responsabilization and provision of care.
