Abstract

DADICO, Luciana. Immanent categories of books on screen: the readers experience. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2017, vol.12, n.3, pp. 1-17. ISSN 1809-8908.

The aim of this paper is to describe the immanent categories of books on screen. First, I discuss this object "book on screen", deeply affected by the digital mediation. Then, the epistemological conditions given for its investigation is under discussion. Based in a critical theoretic approach, I sought to understand how books on screen appear to their readers. This research involved semi-open interviews (recorded and without questionnaire) with ten Brazilian adult, focused on images of books on screen expressed in the speeches of readers. Analysis of these images allowed identifying the following immanent categories of books on the screen: ephemerity; bidimensionality; high-portability; inconstancy of the ground; layout in network; responsiveness; inflexibility; multifunctionality; personification; temporary conservation; immediate accessibility; and semi-standardization. It is expected that this study will become more evident the recent changes in the book appearance, which are intertwined to the structure of our experience in the context of digitalization of culture.
