This study aimed to understand the care practices in Child Mental Health, developed by professionals of the Primary Care Health Centers (PCHC), in a municipality of Horizonte-CE, in northeast Brazil. Based on an exploratory-descriptive analysis, it used as data collection techniques such as: systematic observation, the open questionnaire and the field diary, which were assessed according to the Content Analysis technique. The professionals' reports, grounded on their daily practices revealed that the care of children with mental health complaints is still permeated by the characteristics of a biomedical model, which corroborate to the medicalization practices. The reflection on the instituted conducts and the paths used by us, health professionals is fundamental to carry out an assistance network based on the Expanded Clinical Practice, which conceives an integral subject and enables different forms of heatlh care.
