This article aims to understand the meanings attributed to the Therapeutic Accompaniment (TA) in the view of psychologists who work or have worked as therapeutic companions, being addressed his views on the practice and specifically the "therapeutic setting". Were conducted 10 semi-structured interviews and analyzed the data obtained from the modality of thematic analysis. The main meanings of the TA refers to the construction of autonomy, psychosocial rehabilitation and resumption of everyday functions, and setting as eminently activity performed in the public space, consisting of unforeseen situations. The TA enables the rescue activities, producing changes in the daily lives of accompanied and also in professional practice, which acquire a new vision of "treatment" and the successes that the followed conquest. Finally, we highlight the importance of public management watch out for the need for hiring professionals running the TA.
