Abstract

SILVA, Priscila Dias da et al. Influences of physical exercises in the daily lives of the elderly and their perception about their personal welfare. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2018, vol.13, n.2, pp. 1-13. ISSN 1809-8908.

This paper consists in a cut of a multidisciplinary research involving health professionals, as psychologists and physical educators, in which the main goal was to identify the impact of the Psychological and Physical Health Promotion Program on the participants' autonomy and on their welfare. From a systemic perspective of human development, the focus here was on the activities developed with the elderly in the adapted physical exercise room to identify the influence of this context on their daily life and perception of well-being. Through participant observation, three groups of elderly people, who underwent physical exercise for a year and a half, were followed up. The observations and speeches of the participants allowed identifying aspects related to the principles of selective optimization with compensation (SOC), to risk and protection factors, among others. Results highlight the need for public health policies developed in order to promote development opportunities for elderly people.
