Abstract

DORNA, Lívia Borges Hoffmann  and  MUNIZ, Hélder Pordeus. Mother-care as a working activity. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2018, vol.13, n.2, pp. 1-16. ISSN 1809-8908.

The aim of the present article is to think about the experience of "mother-care" as a job analyzed in the light of Ergology and of the Psycho-Dynamics of Work. Accordingly, we state that it must involve knowledge resulting from practice. Such knowledge goes beyond any simplification attempt, since it concerns management and the mobilization of an inventive intelligence. Without losing the focus on the gender relation perspective, we herein reaffirm that 'mother-care' has a distinct operation to the sense of instinct: it is a "care" work, which demands specific competences. We end up assuming that turning the lights over such knowledge may be a promising way to highlight the 'mother work'.

Keywords : Mother-care; Care work; Gender; Competences.
