Abstract

The paper discuss the impacts on a countryside fisherman village in Aracaju, SE-Brazil, caused by the urbanization process. We analyze the plots, as a life story, from two young women, which school has an important role to play in their lives. The research was involved to the ethnographic perspective with observations and interviews with local residents. The plots explain wome's everyday practices and their life projects. The school is seem in two ways, one as an important element to their social mobility and the other as a place to escape from the precocious maternity obligations, very common in the countryside communities, where women have been more related to traditional values and the difficulties to insertion in the public spaces. The social practices oscillate between changes and remains, which show the everyday tactics to reinvent their lives and the practices of insurgency in intersects among youth, gender and temporalities.
