Música para Todos Project, based in Teresina City, Piauí State, was created with the purpose of making available free music education for low-income population. The first author of this work participated in this project, doing introductory course in teacher training for soprano and alto flute in Sopro Novo program, developed by Yamaha Musical do Brazil. At the same time, the author was studying English Literature and began teaching music classes in a public school in Teresina City. Two types of knowledge (flute and English classes) were combined, affectively involving students in a process which influenced the students' performance in other classes.
