Studies on the quality of life and the youth are not properly debated in society yet; the subject is usually categorized in other fields of social studies. This study is an approach to the quality of life of young participants from a unit of Project Pescar in Canoas/RS through their own perspective. In order to achieve that aim, a qualitative research has been done using the method of participant observation, which took the answers and categorized them according to the relevance that the youngsters themselves defined. The results show that the most relevant categories for the majority of them are the following: family, social interaction and health care. The conclusion is that, for the participants of Project Pescar, those are the essential categories for a better quality of life.
