It had just hosted the 2014 Football World Cup final and was preparing for the start of the 2016 Olympics. Hygienist policies of urban cleansing of the undesirable, criminalization of the poor and repression of social movements were taking place in parallel with mega sports events. In this adverse context, the internship was built as a space for welcoming, caring, attentive listening and problematization guided by the different experiences of its participants.
