Abstract

RAUPP, Luciane Marques  and  PEREIRA, Karini Reis. Harm reduction in rave in Rio Grande do Sul: conceptions of an action. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2020, vol.15, n.1, pp. 1-18. ISSN 1809-8908.

Electronic music is strongly rooted in the musical culture of the postmodern world and if on the one hand it can be seen as an apologetic movement for psychoactive use, on the other it includes groups that perform harm reduction interventions at parties and festivals. This research aimed to present the mode of work in an action performed by the Lotus Collective of Harm Reductions (RD) in a rave in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, afterwards, seeking to describe the event, the work of the collective, the understanding of the reducers that worked in the event about risks and damages in this context and the potentialities of the type of intervention performed. From these actions we can perceive the necessity of this type of work in electronic music festivals, due to the lack of information on effect and quality of psychoactive substances and on risk and harm reduction actions.
