Abstract

MONTEIRO, Ana Claudia Lima  and  MENDONCA, Angélica Glória. Psychology and Disability: Tuning Directions to Encounters with Autism. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2020, vol.15, n.3, pp. 1-15. ISSN 1809-8908.

This study aims to discuss the discourses knowledge built on autism today and reconstruct discourses from studies with feminist theorists. This reflection allows us to rearrange the place of psychology and psychologists in face of this highly distributed diagnosis and to think about practices that are consistent with the experience lived by the subjects. This work brings reflections brought from the experience lived in group body workshops with autistic children and adolescents at the Applied Psychology Service at the Fluminense Federal University and from a caregiver experience lived by the author herself.
