This article aims to present the experiences of professionals training to work with restorative practices, within the scope of the socio-educational system in João Pessoa/Paraíba, through an extension project bound to Federal University of Paraíba, in the years 2015 and 2016. The activities included training courses and seminars on the subject. Through these activities, it was possible to contribute to the professionals' reflection on the practices carried out, identifying the need to build new actions that are more committed to the human rights of young people and their families, despite the institutional difficulties for the implementation of Restorative Justice.
