Abstract

This research investigated the factors that promote or hinder the family's participation in school. Attended a professor, a grandfather and a mother. Contructive-Interpretive analysed the results and the Semi-structured interviews used for collecting data. The results that strengthen the relationship between family and school, were: seek diversified forms of communication and to meet the students' family. In respect to the factors that impede the participation of the Family in the school, were: parents have little involvement with the process of development of children and restricted personal communication. In general, it found that the intervention strategies of the school psychologist aimed at parents' approach to school can't be permeated by actions that put the school as a family trainer, but by intervention to ensure a space of exchange and strengthening.
