Abstract

SILVA, Roseane Amorim da  and  MENEZES, Jaileila de Araújo. Intersectionality in Brazilian Scientific Production. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2020, vol.15, n.4, pp. 1-16. ISSN 1809-8908.

The study investigated the use of intersectionality in scientific production, in general, and in psychology, in a specific way, with regard to dissertations, theses and articles produced in different institutions of Brazil. The study was carried out in the second half of 2018. The dissertations and theses were searched through the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), and the articles in the SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Database). At BDTD we located 224 productions, 146 dissertations and 78 theses, in SciELO, 65. We have seen that productions have used intersectionality in different ways, as an analytical strategy, as a form of social praxis, with an emphasis on the connections between knowledge and social justice. Researches that deal with intersectionality have different themes, and research methods are multiple. With this study we seek to emphasize the potentiality of intersectionality in order to visualize situations of oppression and social inequalities.

Keywords : Intersectionality; Literature review; Scientific production.
