Resumen

CARVALHO, Aline  y  PONDE, Thiago. Tropifagia: an Experience of Psychosociology from the Tropical South. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2021, vol.16, n.2, pp. 1-15. ISSN 1809-8908.

In order to contribute to a counter-hegemonic Psychosociology from Latin America, this article presents, through the concept of tropifagia - "eating the tropical country" -, a psychosocial methodology of creative production performed by the Cena Tropifágica project: the cultural exchange. Proposing a sensitive mediation between diversities based on an artistic creation process, this methodology is opposed to the cultural and political decontextualization of knowledge production, in order to question the alleged hegemony of modern science. From the perspective of postmodern knowledge and combined with the formulations of a popular science, the article evoques a Psychosociology of the tropical south: a production of knowledge that is based on sensitivity and challenges the cartesian assumptions of rationality, having as common point precisely the diversity of knowledges and practices as resistance.

Palabras clave : Tropifagia; Psychosociology; Sensitivity; Postmodern knowledge; Latin America.
