Abstract

BRONDANI, Renata Petry; CHRISTOFARI, Gabriela Clerici; ARPINI, Dorian Mônica  and  JANCZURA, Rosane. Challenges on Rights Assurance: An Experience with Guardianship Counselors. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2021, vol.16, n.4, pp. 1-16. ISSN 1809-8908.

Since the promulgation of the Brazilian Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA), Guardianship Counselors have become privileged actors in terms of childhood and adolescence. This experience report aims to share actions performed with Guardianship Counselors from four cities located in the central area of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, throughout a partnership between a public higher education institution and the Public Prosecution. The work was conducted in two moments: first, it was developed a training for Guardianship Counselors, which later leaded to the idea of creating an Extension Project aiming to contribute to the deconstruction of the Guardianship Counselor as a punitive/repressive figure. Bearing in mind the daily complexity on the work of Guardianship Counselors, it is understood the importance of maintaining a formative and reflective character, in order to strengthen the performance of these professionals, by approximating them to their community.

Keywords : Guardianship Council; Childhood; Adolescence; Child and Adolescent protection.
