Abstract

The Roles of Woman and Man in Families through the Male Perspective: A Two-Generation Study. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2021, vol.16, n.4, pp. 1-18. ISSN 1809-8908.

The aim of this study was to investigate the social representations of men and adolescent boys about the roles of men and women in the families and analysis social representations that the two generations of men expressed. The participants were 17 adolescent males and 30 adult males. Although this study evidences that the youngest participants showed identification with certain social changes involving gender roles, it was observed that prevail, in the families studied, conservatives social representation elements about what is to be man and to be woman and the roles they should play in family.
