The role of psychologists in unified social assistance system is still an explored and little-known field about psychological practices in these services. This article consists of a report of a training experience in Psychology at the Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance in order to describe a proposal for psychosocial care offered to women who experienced domestic and/or family violence. Ten weekly meetings with one hour and thirty minutes were held. Each meeting had a defined objective. The data on undertakings and supervision received during one year of intervention were recorded in the field diary. The training experience allowed to understand that psychological practices are immersed in a social reality that needs to be articulated and integrated at various levels for the process of overcome violence actually happen.
