Resumen

HASSMANN, Amanda Hoffmeister  y  DE ANTONI, Clarissa. Family Climate in Mother-Child Relationships after Intimate Partner Violence Exposition. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2021, vol.16, n.4, pp. 1-16. ISSN 1809-8908.

This study aimed to comprehend the family climate in mother-child relationships where the mother was previously exposed to intimate partner violence. The method consisted of the ecological engagement and the study of three cases. The participants were three mother-child dyads. The instruments were a sociodemographic questionnaire, semi-structured interviews and naturalistic observations, registered in field notes. Findings show tensioning and emotional distance in family climate, which is related to difficulties in expressing feelings, lack of leisure time between mother and child, use of punitive parenting practices and structural violence. Thus intimate partner violence can still reverberate in the present, such as seen in structural violence and in family climate.

Palabras clave : Family climate; Intimate partner violence; Mother-child relationship.
