Life expectancy has been increasing during the last decades. This increase in longevity has a deep impact on healthy aging. That is the reason why we have selected as the problem for our investigation to know about the characteristics of the elders with satisfactory and unsatisfactory longevity within a health area. The sample was made up of 116 elders. A questionnaire was prepared which brought about the following outcomes: 78 individuals have satisfactory longevity and 38 individuals have unsatisfactory longevity. Coffee consumption was present in 87.2% of Group I (satisfactory longevity). Family contacts are rated as very frequent and frequent in Group I and in Group II (unsatisfactory longevity) they are rated as very frequent and with no family contacts. In Group I the long-lived elders state that the cause of their old age is the gintense physical work, while in Group II they declare to have religious believes and a family history of longevity.
