Abstract

SILVA, Gláucia Faria da. Reflexões psicanalíticas sobre a l íngua, o estrangeiro e a intimidade em casos de surdez profunda. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2007, n.9, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1870-350X.

Psychoanalytical reflections on language, foreignness and intimacy in cases of profound deafnessBased on my clinical service experience in sign language with profoundly deaf patients who were born in hearing families, I build the hypothesis in which the family desiring prehistory is not able to build a consistent identification space, as it is not fully decoded by the subject. This identification space remains potential, and then the deaf perform an avid search for sense. Therefore, we will reflect upon the precocious, multi-determined and paradoxical impact of living as a foreigner for the deaf. In this paper, I will use the language and the notion of phenomenological efficiency of speech as the central subject, presenting, then, an outline of the relationship between the notion of foreignness and intimacy.
